Net trade balance at SEK 12.8 billion in March

In March 2025, Swedish exports of goods amounted to SEK 186.9 billion, while imports of goods amounted to SEK 174.1 billion. As a result, the net trade balance was SEK 12.8 billion.
Foreign trade in goods resulted in a net trade surplus of SEK 12.8 billion in March 2025, according to preliminary calculations. In March 2024, there was a net trade surplus of SEK 6.2 billion.
The value of exports in March 2025 was SEK 186.9 billion, while imports were valued at SEK 174.1 billion. The corresponding values for March 2024 were SEK 178.0 billion for exports and SEK 171.8 billion for imports. Exports of goods have thus increased by 5 percent in value and imports have increased by 1 percent in value compared with March 2024. The number of weekdays in March 2025 was one more compared with March 2024.
Trade in goods with countries outside the EU resulted in a surplus of SEK 28.8 billion, while EU trade resulted in a deficit of SEK 16.0 billion.

Seasonally adjusted, net trade showed a surplus of SEK 8.5 billion in March, compared with a surplus of SEK 7.5 billion in February. The corresponding figure for January was a surplus of SEK 6.3 billion.
Net trade (January – March 2025) showed a surplus of SEK 42.0 billion
During the last three months, the value of exports of goods increased by 4 percent and the value of imports of goods increased by 2 percent compared with the corresponding period a year ago. Exports were valued at SEK 541.1 billion and imports were valued at SEK 499.1 billion. The net trade for January – March 2025 thus resulted in a surplus of SEK 42.0 billion. The corresponding net trade balance for these months one year earlier was a surplus of SEK 30.0 billion was noted.
