Net trade balance at SEK 6.6 billion in April

In April 2025, Swedish exports of goods amounted to SEK 169.5 billion, while imports of goods amounted to SEK 162.9 billion. As a result, the net trade balance was SEK 6.6 billion.
Foreign trade in goods resulted in a net trade surplus of SEK 6.6 billion in April 2025, according to preliminary calculations. In April 2024, there was a net trade surplus of SEK 7.1 billion.
The value of exports in April 2025 was SEK 169.5 billion, while imports were valued at SEK 162.9 billion. The corresponding values for April 2024 were SEK 182.7 billion for exports and SEK 175.6 billion for imports. Exports and imports of goods have thus decreased by 7 percent compared with April 2024. The number of weekdays in April 2025 was one less compared with April 2024.
Trade in goods with countries outside the EU resulted in a surplus of SEK 27.5 billion, while EU trade resulted in a deficit of SEK 20.9 billion.

Seasonally adjusted, net trade showed a surplus of SEK 8.2 billion in April, compared with a surplus of SEK 7.4 billion in March. The corresponding figure for February was a surplus of SEK 6.6 billion.
Net trade (January – April 2025) showed a surplus of SEK 44.8 billion
During the last four months, the value of exports of goods increased by 1 percent while the value of imports of goods is unchanged compared with the corresponding period a year ago. Exports were valued at SEK 711.2 billion and imports were valued at SEK 666.4 billion. The net trade for January – April 2025 thus resulted in a surplus of SEK 44.8 billion. The corresponding net trade balance for these months one year earlier was a surplus of SEK 37.1 billion.
