Foreign trade in goods resulted in a net trade surplus of SEK 14.4 billion in February 2025, according to preliminary calculations. In February 2024, there was a net trade surplus of SEK 11.2 billion.

The value of exports in February 2025 was SEK 174.1 billion, while imports were valued at SEK 159.7 billion. The corresponding values ​​for February 2024 were SEK 172.4 billion for exports and SEK 161.2 billion for imports. Exports of goods have thus increased by 1 percent in value while imports have decreased by 1 percent in value compared with February 2024. The number of weekdays in February 2025 was one less compared with February 2024.

Trade in goods with countries outside the EU resulted in a surplus of SEK 29.0 billion, while EU trade resulted in a deficit of SEK 14.6 billion.

Seasonally adjusted, net trade showed a surplus of SEK 7.4 billion in February, compared with a surplus of SEK 6.1 billion in January. The corresponding figure for December was a surplus of SEK 4.8 billion.

Net trade (December 2024 – February 2025) showed a surplus of SEK 33.1 billion

During the last three months, the value of exports of goods increased by 3 percent and the value of imports of goods increased by 2 percent compared with the corresponding period a year ago. Exports were valued at SEK 516.4 billion and imports were valued at SEK 483.3 billion. The net trade for December 2024 – February 2025 thus resulted in a surplus of SEK 33.1 billion. The corresponding net trade balance for these months one year earlier was a surplus of SEK 25.1 billion was noted.
