Net trade balance at SEK 8.7 billion in June

In June 2024, Swedish exports of goods amounted to SEK 170.6 billion, while imports of goods amounted to SEK 161.9 billion. As a result, the net trade balance was SEK 8.7 billion.
Foreign trade in goods resulted in a net trade surplus of SEK 8.7 billion in June 2024, according to preliminary calculations. In June 2023, there was a net trade surplus of SEK 3.6 billion.
The value of exports in June 2024 was SEK 170.6 billion, while imports were valued at SEK 161.9 billion. The corresponding values for June 2023 were SEK 178.6 billion for exports and SEK 175.0 billion for imports. Exports of goods have thus decreased by 4 percent in value and imports decreased by 7 percent compared with June 2023. The number of weekdays in June 2024 were two less compared with June 2023.
Trade in goods with countries outside the EU resulted in a surplus of SEK 29.7 billion, while EU trade resulted in a deficit of SEK 21.0 billion.

Seasonally adjusted, net trade showed a surplus of SEK 7.9 billion in June, compared with a surplus of SEK 6.9 billion in May. The corresponding figure for April was a surplus of SEK 5.8 billion.
Net trade (January – June 2024) showed a surplus of SEK 53.8 billion
During the last six months, the value of exports of goods decreased by 1 percent and the value of imports of goods decreased by 3 percent compared with the corresponding period a year ago. Exports were valued at SEK 1056.0 billion and imports were valued at SEK 1002.2 billion, resulting in a net trade surplus of SEK 53.8 billion for January - June 2024. The corresponding net trade balance for these months one year earlier was a surplus of SEK 30.0 billion.
