In September 2025, Swedish exports of goods amounted to SEK 174.3 billion, while imports of goods amounted to SEK 168.9 billion. As a result, the net trade balance was SEK 5.4 billion.
Foreign trade in goods resulted in a net trade surplus of SEK 5.4 billion in September 2025, according to preliminary calculations. In September 2024, there was a net trade deficit of SEK -0.2 billion.
The value of exports in September 2025 was SEK 174.3 billion, while imports were valued at SEK 168.9 billion. The corresponding values for September 2024 were SEK 170.1 billion for exports and SEK 170.3 billion for imports. Exports of goods have increased by 2 percent while imports of goods decreased by 1 percent compared to September 2024. The number of weekdays in September 2025 was one more compared with September 2024.
Trade in goods with countries outside the EU resulted in a surplus of SEK 22.3 billion, while EU trade resulted in a deficit of SEK 16.9 billion.

Seasonally adjusted, net trade showed a surplus of SEK 5.0 billion in September, compared with a surplus of SEK 5.3 billion in August. The corresponding figure for July was a surplus of SEK 5.8 billion.
Net trade (January – September 2025) showed a surplus of SEK 56.4 billion
During the last nine months, the value of both exports of goods and imports of goods decreased by 1 percent compared with the corresponding period a year ago. Exports were valued at SEK 1524.9 billion and imports were valued at SEK 1468.5 billion. The net trade for January – September 2025 thus resulted in a surplus of SEK 56.4 billion. The corresponding net trade balance for these months one year earlier was a surplus of SEK 55.1 billion.
