Increased capacity utilisation in industry

Capacity utilisation in industry increased by 0.8 percentage points in the first quarter of 2023 compared with the fourth quarter of 2022 in seasonally adjusted figures.
The increase in capacity utilisation in industry in the first quarter led to an increase in the level of utilisation, which amounted to 90.6 percent in seasonally adjusted figures.
On an annual basis, capacity utilisation was unchanged compared with the first quarter of 2022 and amounted to 90.6 percent in calendar adjusted figures.
The figures for the first quarter of 2023 are preliminary. Since the previous publication capacity utilisation in the fourth quarter of 2022 compared with the third quarter of 2022 has been revised downwards by 0.3 percentage points, to a utilisation rate of 89.8 percent in seasonally adjusted figures.
Capacity utilisation in the fourth quarter of 2022 compared with the corresponding quarter a year ago is has been revised downwards by 0.5 percentage points, to a utilisation rate of 89.4 percent in calendar adjusted figures.

Change in publication
Starting with the next publication (2023-08-18), the industry's capacity utilization will only be presented for the total industrial sector (B+C). The reporting of statistics for separate industries will therefore no longer be updated.
More information about this change will come in connection with the next publication.
Outdated tables
"Capacity utilisation in total industry (B+C), percent, quarter 2013K4 - 2022K3" is no longer updated as of 2022-11-21. The same information is still updated in the table "Industrial capacity utilisation, actual utilisation by industrial classification SNI2007".
Revisions
When capacity utilisation for a new quarter is published, the percentages for the previous quarter are also revised. Normally, the figures for the previous quarter are revised mainly due to new and revised information.
