Last spring, 60 percent of the electorate was in favour of the Swedish EU membership, which corresponds to a doubling compared to 1996. But there are clear differences between the sympathizers of the different political parties. The Swedish voter turnout in the elections to the European Parliament has also increased and been above the EU average in the last three elections.
