This statistic describes adult participation in formal and non-formal education based on data from the Labour Force Survey (LFS).
The statistics serve as a complement to other data on educational participation among the adult population:
- Statistics Sweden (SCB) annually publishes data on participation in education within the formal education system. The statistics are available at: Register on Participation in Education.
- Sweden also participates in the international Adult Education Survey (AES), conducted every six years. The most recent survey was carried out in 2022. The results are available at: Adult Education Survey (AES).

New statistics show that adults with upper secondary educational attainment level participate the least in education and training. People with higher education participate the most.
