Increased growth rate of lending to micro enterprises

The annual growth rate of lending to micro enterprises continued to rise, reaching 4.5 percent in July 2026. This implies that the growth rate of micro enterprises has been on an upward trend for just over two years since it last bottomed out at 0.6 percent in April 2024. Over the same period, interest rates have declined significantly, with the average interest rate on outstanding loans to micro enterprises standing at 3.75 percent in July 2026, compared with the higher rate of 5.59 percent in April 2024.
