Unlet dwellings in multi-dwelling buildings 2011:
Number of vacant dwellings decreases
Statistical news from Statistics Sweden 2011-12-16 9.30
Approximately 27 000 rental dwellings were unlet as of 1 September 2011, a decrease of 19 percent compared to when the last survey was carried out in September 2009.
Many of the larger municipalities have a few vacant apartments while smaller municipalities show a different pattern. About 12 500 or 78 percent of the dwellings vacant for rent can be found in municipalities with fewer than 75 000 inhabitants.
This year's number of vacant dwellings for rent is the lowest number since the survey in March 1991 when only about 10 000 dwellings were vacant for immediate rent.
