Definitions and explanations
Not Stw: Not standard weighted
Stw: Standard weighted. Monthly salary for each sex is standard weighted with regard to the differences in age, education, working time and sector of women and men. These factors are assumed to affect the salary. The calculation is done with consideration to women's and men's different distributions for these variables. This implies that the average monthly salary is calculated for each group. The total number of employees within each group has been used as a weight. The group is formed by combination of age groups (4 groups), education groups (2 groups), working time groups (2 groups) and sector groups (2 groups) within each occupational group ( Swedish Standard Classification of Occupations 3-digit level) which implies that the total will be standard weighted by occupational group.
