Listening to music or watching films/TV series via streaming services, such as Spotify or Netflix, is the most common type of cloud service used. Almost 70 percent of men and just over 60 percent of women have used such a service.

Online image and video editing software, such as Picasa or Instagram, has been used by almost 30 percent of the population and it is women who do this to the greatest extent. Typical office software for e.g. word-processing has been used as an online service by just over a quarter of the population.

One in three people have used online storage space and one in five have shared files with the help of online storage. Being able to share files with others is also one of the most common reasons for using online storage services. The most common reason for choosing online storage is, however, in order to be able to access files from different devices or locations, something that 26 percent say they do. Protecting oneself from loss of data is also a common reason for storing files online. Just over five percent of the population have paid to use some form of online storage service.
