Statistical news from Statistics Sweden 2019-12-13 9.30

The Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) increased in volume terms in all but three counties in 2017. GRDP rose most in Kronoberg County. Stockholm County had the highest GRDP per capita, GRDP per employed person and disposable income per capita this year as well.

GRDP development varied between counties. Kronoberg County recorded the highest level of growth in fixed prices, an increase of 7.4 percent compared with 2016. Norrbotten County, Södermanland County and Skåne County followed, with increases of 5.1 percent, 4.8 percent and 4.3 percent, respectively. In Stockholm County, GRDP increased by 1.4 percent, while the increase in Västra Götaland County was 2,1 percent. In 2017, GRDP decreased in two counties; in Gävleborg County and in Blekinge County, GRDP declined by 0.6 percent and 0.2 percent, respectively.

The contribution to the development among the remaining counties did not exceed 0.1 percentage point each.

The national average for GRDP per employed person was SEK 921 000 in 2017. In addition to Stockholm County, Norrbotten County also recorded GRDP per employed person above the national average of SEK 971 000 in current prices.
