Changes during the last month

The main contributor to the downturn on the export market was lower prices for paper and paper products. On the domestic market, a seasonally normal price decrease on district heating was the main contributor to the downturn. A continued increase in crude oil prices contributed on the import market. This upward contribution was offset by lower prices on chemicals and chemical products, communication equipment and motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers. The import market in total remained unchanged in April.

Changes during the last year

The Producer Price Index annual rate in April was 4.9 percent (6.3 percent in March). On the export and import market, the annual rate was 5.8 percent and 5.2 percent respectively, and on the domestic market 4.1 percent. The annual rate of the domestic supply prices was 4.7 percent.
