The weight for product group 35.14 Trade services of electricity as a share of total PPI has increased from 4,57 % in 2022 to 9,9 % in 2023. This is mostly due to the higher electricity prices in 2022. As a result of the volatile electricity prices the possibility to buy futures contracts has been limited. In the calculation of price index for electricity the share of spot prices is higher and the share of futures contracts is lower in 2023 than in 2022.
