Producer and import price index, February 2018:

Lower export and import prices in February 2018

Statistical news from Statistics Sweden 2018-03-27 9.30

Producer prices in total industry fell by 0.5 percent between January and February 2018. In the same period prices decreased by 1.7 percent on the import market and by 1.0 percent on the export market under the influence of a stronger Swedish krona. On the domestic market, producer prices increased by 0.1 percent.

Domestic supply prices, that is, producer prices on the domestic and import markets together, decreased by 0.8 percent from January to February.

Changes during the last month

The domestic, export and import markets contributed price increases to electricity. The upturn in all markets was counteracted by lower producer prices in several other product groups under the influence of a weaker US dollar. In particular, the producer price of crude oil contributed to the decline in the import market.

Changes during the last year

In the last year, producer prices, that is, producer prices on the domestic and export markets together, have increased by 2.8 percent. In the same period, prices on the import market increased by 2.6 percent and the export market increased by 2.4 percent. On the domestic market, prices increased by 3.1 percent. Prices for domestic supply increased by 2.9 percent compared with the same period last year.
