The Producer Price Index rose by 0.4 percent in October compared to September 2025. Prices increased by 0.1 percent on the export market and increased by 0.8 percent on the domestic market. On the import market, prices decreased by 0.3 percent. The annual rate according to the Producer Price Index was 0.4 percent in October (0.5 percent in September).

Changes in the last month
The monthly rate of change was positive on the domestic and export markets, but negative on the import market in October. This resulted in a positive monthly rate of change for both Producer Price Index and Price Index for Domestic Supply during the same period.
The main upward contribution on the domestic market came from higher prices on trade services of electricity. Prices also rose in district heating and basic precious and other non-ferrous metals. This upturn was offset by price decreases on food products, sawn and planed wood, basic iron and steel and other machinery and equipment.
On the export market the main upward contribution came from higher prices on basic precious and other non-ferrous metals. Prices also rose in basic iron and steel and waste collection, treatment and disposal- and materials recovery services. This upturn was offset by price decreases on paper and paperboard, refined petroleum products and motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers.
The main contributions to the decrease on the import market came from lower prices on crude oil and motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers. This downturn was somewhat offset by higher prices on other machinery and equipment.

Changes in the last year
The annual rate for the domestic market was 4.5 percent in October (4.5 percent in September). The annual rate for the export market was -3.6 percent during the same period (-3.5 percent in September). On the import market, the annual rate in October was -3.7 percent (-2.8 percent in September).
The annual rate of the Producer Price Index was 0.4 percent in October. Compared with October 2024, prices rose by 15.2 percent on energy-related products. Prices decreased by 0.7 percent on consumer goods and decreased by 1.1 percent on capital goods. The annual rate of the Producer Price Index excluding energy-related products was -1.6 percent.
The annual rate of the Price Index for Domestic Supply was 0.1 percent in October. Compared with October 2024, prices rose by 4.4 percent on energy-related products. Prices increased by 1.9 percent on consumer goods and decreased by 0.9 percent on capital goods. The annual rate of the Price Index for Domestic Supply excluding energy-related products was -0.8 percent.
