Changes during the last quarter

The quarterly rate of change was positive on the domestic and import markets, but negative on the export market in the fourth quarter. This resulted in a positive quarterly rate of change for both Services Producer Price Index and Price Index for Domestic Supply during the same period.

The main upward contribution on the domestic market came from higher prices on warehousing and support services for transportation. Prices also rose in land transport services and transport services via pipelines, advertising services and computer programming, consultancy and related services.

On the export market the main negative contribution came from lower prices on software publishing services. Prices also fell within telecommunications services and rental and leasing services. This downturn was offset by higher prices on management consulting services, warehousing and support services and computer programming, consultancy and related services.

The main contribution to the increase on the import market came from higher prices on advertising. Prices also rose in land transport services and transport services via pipelines, air transport services, rental and leasing services and water transport services. This upturn was offset by price decreases on accounting, bookkeeping and auditing services, tax consulting services, warehousing and support services for transportation, software publishing services and computer programming services, consultancy and related services.

Changes in the last year

The annual rate for the domestic market was 2.6 percent in the fourth quarter (2.1 percent in the third quarter). The annual rate for the export market was -4.7 percent during the same period (-3.6 percent in the third quarter). On the import market, the annual rate in the fourth quarter was -2.5 percent (-3.6 percent in the third quarter).

This resulted in an annual rate of change of 1.4 percent for the Services Producer Price Index in the fourth quarter of 2025 and an annual rate of change of 1.8 percent for the Price Index for Domestic Supply during the same period.

Several sections contributed to the positive annual rate of change for the total Services Producer Price Index. Administrative and support services contributed with 0.5 percentage points while professional, scientific and technical services contributed with 0.4 percentage points. Real estate services and transportation and storage services contributed upwards with 0.3 percentage points each. Hotel and restaurant services contributed upwards to the annual rate by 0.2 percentage points.

Information and communication services had a negative contribution to the annual rate by 0.4 percentage points.

Changes in exchange rates

An appreciation or depreciation of the Swedish currency lowers or raises export and import prices in Swedish kronor. Prices at the producer and import stages are converted from foreign currencies to Swedish kronor according to the Riksbank’s exchange rates.
