The Services Producer Price Index rose by 1.7 percent in the second quarter compared with the first quarter 2026. Prices increased by 3.6 percent in the export market and increased by 2.6 percent in the import market. In the domestic market, prices rose by 1.3 percent. The annual rate according to the Services Producer Price Index was 2.9 percent in the second quarter (1.6 percent in the first quarter).

Changes during the last quarter
The quarterly rate of change was positive in in the domestic, export and import markets in the second quarter of 2026. This resulted in a positive quarterly rate of change for both Services Producer Price Index and Price Index for Domestic Supply during the same period.
The main upward contribution in the domestic market came from higher prices for travel agency and tour operator services and warehousing and support services for transportation. Prices also rose for rental and operating services of own or leased real estate, water transport services and freight transport services by road and removal services.
In the export market the main upward contribution came from higher prices for publishing services. Prices also rose for computer programming, consultancy and related services, water transport services, telecommunications services, rental and leasing services, warehousing and support services for transportation, management consulting services, freight transport services by road and removal services and information services. This upturn was partially offset by price decreases for advertising and market research services.
The main contribution to the increase in the import market came from higher prices for freight transport services by road and removal services. Prices also rose for warehousing and support services for transportation, computer programming, consultancy and related services, telecommunications services, advertising and market research services, legal and accounting services, water transport services, management consulting services, publishing services and rental and leasing services. This upturn was partially offset by price decreases for information services.

Changes in the last year
The annual rate in the domestic market was 2.9 percent in the second quarter (2.6 percent in the first quarter). The annual rate in the export market was 2.7 percent during the same period (-4.1 percent in the first quarter). In the import market, the annual rate in the second quarter was 3.3 percent (-2.7 percent in the first quarter).
This resulted in an annual rate of the Services Producer Price Index of 2.9 percent in the second quarter, and an annual rate of the Price Index for Domestic Supply was 3.0 percent during the same period.
Several sections contributed to the positive annual rate for the total Services Producer Price Index. Transportation and storage services contributed with 1.0 percentage points, while professional, scientific and technical services and information and communication services each contributed to the increase with 0.5 percentage points. In addition to this, real estate services and administrative and support services both contributed with 0.4 percentage points. Accommodation and food services contributed with 0.2 percentage points to the positive annual rate.

An appreciation or depreciation of the Swedish currency lowers or raises export and import prices in Swedish kronor. Prices at the producer and import stages are converted from foreign currencies to Swedish kronor according to the Riksbank’s exchange rates.
