Net trade balance at SEK 2.9 billion in November

In November 2019, Swedish exports of goods amounted to SEK 131.0 billion, while imports of goods amounted to SEK 128.1 billion. As a result, the net trade balance was SEK 2.9 billion.
Foreign trade in goods resulted in a net trade surplus of SEK 2.9 billion in November 2019, according to preliminary calculations. In November 2018, there was a net trade surplus of SEK 2.5 billion.
The value of exports in November was SEK 131.0 billion, while imports were valued at SEK 128.1 billion. Compared with November 2018, both exports and imports decreased by 5 percent in value.
Trade in goods with countries outside the EU resulted in a surplus of SEK 21.8 billion, while EU trade resulted in a deficit of SEK 18.9 billion.
The number of weekdays in November 2019 was one less compared with November 2018.
Seasonally adjusted, the net trade shows a surplus of SEK 0.3 billion in November, compared with a surplus of SEK 0.1 billion in October. The corresponding figure for September was a surplus of SEK 0.5 billion.
Net trade (Jan – Nov 2019) surplus of SEK 20.4 billion
In this period, the value of exports of goods increased by 5 percent, and the value of imports of goods increased by 1 percent compared with the corresponding period one year ago. Exports were valued at SEK 1401.4 billion and imports were valued at SEK 1381.0 billion, resulting in a net trade surplus of SEK 20.4 billion for January– November 2019. The corresponding net trade balance for these months one year earlier was a deficit of SEK 33.5 billion

Definitions and explanations
Last month’s import and export values in trade with the EU are estimates based on data provided by a large subset of companies that trade with the EU. Most (95 percent) of the deviation between these estimates and the subsequent outcome lies within the range of SEK -2 billion and SEK 1 billion for both imports and exports.
Import and export values for trade in goods with non-EU countries are based largely on data from Swedish Customs.
