  • Household consumption increased in March 2024

    Household consumption increased by 0.5 percent in March 2024, measured in seasonally adjusted figures, compared with February 2024. Compared with March 2023, household consumption increased by 1.2 percent, measured in constant prices and working day adjusted figures. In the last three-month period, consumption increased by 0.4 percent compared with the same period a year ago, measured in constant prices and working day adjusted figures.

  • Private sector production increased in March 2024

    Private sector production increased by 0.6 percent in March 2024 compared with February 2024 in seasonally adjusted figures, and increased by 0.4 percent compared with March 2023 in calendar adjusted figures.

  • Orders in industry increased in March

    Total orders in industry increased by 1.8 percent in March 2024 compared with February, in seasonally adjusted figures. Compared with March 2023, total orders in industry increased by 1.0 percent in calendar-adjusted figures.

  • Rise in services prices in the first quarter of 2024

    The Services Producer Price Index increased by 1.0 percent in the first quarter of 2024 compared to the fourth quarter of 2023. Compared to the first quarter of 2023, the Services Producer Price Index has increased by 2.7 percent (2.8 percent in the fourth quarter of 2023).

  • Weaker labour market for young people in the first quarter

    In the first quarter of 2024, the number of employed people amounted to 5 168 000, not seasonally adjusted. There were 583 000 temporary employees, a decrease of 82 000. The average number of hours worked per week amounted to 163.3 million hours, a decrease of 4.0 million hours. There were 497 000 unemployed people, which is an increase of 56 000 people. This corresponds to an unemployment rate of 8.8 percent, an increase of 1.0 percentage points. Seasonally adjusted and smoothed data shows an increase in both the number and share of unemployed. The seasonally adjusted and smoothed unemployment rate amounted to 8.3 percent.
