For elections to the European Parliament, the Riksdag (the Swedish parliament), county councils and municipal councils, Statistic Sweden presents statistics on nominated, elected and not elected candidates in the general elections. The statistics cover information on the candidates, e.g. party affiliation, sex, age, income, education, place of birth, and country of citizenship.

General elections, nominated and elected candidates, those who leave during term of office 2017

2017-10-18

The number of those who leave county and municipal council have increased three years in to the present term of office, which began on election day in 2014. The largest increase were among elected candidates to the county council. On the other hand, fewer candidates below 30 years of age elected to the municipal council leave office after three years. Those who leave the Riksdag are on the same level as earlier terms of office.
