The inflation rate according to the Consumer Price Index (CPI) was 1.8 percent in February 2017, up from 1.4 percent in January. The Swedish Consumer Price Index (CPI) was up by 0.7 percent from January to February 2017. In the corresponding period last year, the CPI also increased but only by 0.3 percent.
The rise in the CPI from January to February 2017 was mainly due to a rise in prices for clothing (5.1 percent), which contributed 0.2 percentage point. Higher prices on vegetables (5.1 percent), package holidays (7.4 percent), transport services (1.7 percent), furnishing and household equipment group (0.9 percent) and also restaurants and accommodation services (0.9 percent) contributed upwards by 0.1 percentage point each.
The CPI for February 2017 was 319.73 (1980=100).
The inflation rate according to the CPI with a fixed interest rate (CPIF) was 2.0 percent in February, up from 1.6 percent in January. This is the highest inflation rate according to CPIF in over six years (since December 2010). The CPIF increased by 0.7 percent from January to February 2017. In the corresponding period last year, the CPIF increased by 0.3 percent.
The inflation rate according to the Harmonised Index of Consumer Prices (HICP) was 1.9 percent in February 2017, up from 1.5 percent in January. The HICP increased by 0.7 percent from January to February 2017. In the corresponding period last year, the HICP increased by 0.3 percent.
