Monthly fuel, gas and inventory statistics

The purpose of the survey is to shed light on supply and delivery of liquid biofuels, petroleum products, crude oil, as well as gas, coal and coke in Sweden.

The survey includes all importers, producers, storage companies and distributors of energy goods in Sweden. For a list of which energy products are covered, refer to the Swedish Energy Agency's regulation STEMFS 2023:4 which can be found here.

The main users of the statistics are the Swedish Energy Agency, oil companies, Ministry of Enterprise and Innovation, Statistics Sweden (national accounts and environmental statistics), trade associations, enterprises, Eurostat, OECD/IEA, UNECE.

The statistics are used as a basis for monthly follow up of supply and use of fuel for forecasts on energy supply, contingency planning, market analyses and for considerations concerning the goals and direction for energy policies. These statistics are used as a basis for reporting monthly and annual oil statistics and annual coal statistics (preliminary and definitive) to OECD/IEA, Eurostat and UNECE.
