Workplace number used on the income statements

This survey is sent to the enterprises that have submitted income statements to the Swedish Tax Agency where the workplace number is either incomplete or missing.

Information on workplace numbers is used by Statistics Sweden for official statistics on, among other things, employment and wage totals. By linking the employees to a specific workplace found in Statistics Sweden’s Business Database, the empoyed can be distributed by region and industry. The statistics are an important basis for planning and decisions at various levels in society.

Your response

Enterprises that have not submitted complete information concerning workplace numbers to the Swedish Tax Agency will receive a questionnaire from Statistics Sweden in April. Statistics Sweden checks the information about workplace number according to the act about workplace numbers (1984:533)

Survey timetable

The final date for response is May 8 2026.

Publishing of the results

The results of the final statistics in BAS will be published on 30 November 2026 on SCB's website.

Legal Information

The obligation to provide information exists according to the Act (2001:99) on official statistics, the Act (1984:533) on workplace numbers etc. and the Tax Procedure Act (2011:1244) and the Ordinance (2001:100) on official statistics.

In addition, there are also rules in Act (2018:218) with supplementary provisions to the EU Data Protection Regulation and the regulations that have been issued in connection with that Act.

The information you provide is protected by confidentiality according to Chapter 24, Section 8 of the Public Access and Secrecy Act (2009:400). When the information is published, no single company, workplace or individual will be able to be identified.

The information on addresses of new workplaces is submitted to Statistics Sweden's business register in accordance with the Regulation (1984:692) on the business register. Information in the Statistics Sweden´s business register is not subject to confidentiality.
