Increased capacity utilisation in industry

Capacity utilisation in industry increased by 0.4 percentage points in the first quarter of 2017 compared with the fourth quarter of 2016 in seasonally adjusted figures.
The increased capacity utilisation in industry meant that the level of utilisation increased to 90.0 percent in seasonally adjusted figures.
On an annual basis, capacity utilisation increased by 0.7 percentage points compared with the first quarter of 2016 and showed an 89.9 percent level of utilisation in calendar adjusted figures.
The figures for the first quarter of 2017 are preliminary. Since the previous publication, the capacity utilisation for the fourth quarter of 2016 compared with the third quarter of 2016 remains unchanged. The change in capacity utilisation in the fourth quarter of 2016 compared with the corresponding quarter of the previous year has been revised downwards by 0.1 percentage points to a decrease of 0.8 percentage points.
