Inflation rate according to CPIF 2.1 percent

The inflation rate according to the CPI with a fixed interest rate (CPIF) was 2.1 percent in November 2018 (2.4 percent in October). The CPIF decreased by 0.1 percent from October to November. In the corresponding period last year, the CPIF increased by 0.2 percent. The inflation rate according to the CPI was 2.0 percent in November (2.3 percent in October).

The drop in the CPI from October to November 2018 was mainly due to lower prices on fuels and lubricants (-4.4 percent), international flights (-14.2 percent) and package holidays (-5.6 percent) that contributed downwards with 0.1 percentage point each.

The decrease was offset by higher prices on electricity (2.9 percent) and clothing (1.9 percent) that contributed with 0.1 percentage point each.

The CPI for November 2018 was 330.40 (1980=100).

The inflation rate according to the Harmonised Index of Consumer Prices (HICP) was 2.1 percent in November 2018, down from 2.4 percent in October. The HICP decreased by 0.1 percent from October to November. In the corresponding period last year, the HICP increased by 0.2 percent.
