Councils and boards at Statistics Sweden

Statistics Sweden has a number of councils, boards and working groups. In addition to employees from Statistics Sweden, these consist of experts from other government agencies, ministries and universities.

Advisory Council

Statistics Sweden has an Advisory Council that works for transparency and assists the Director General with advice.

The Council for Official Statistics

The Council for Official Statistics assists Statistics Sweden by giving advice and support to statistical agencies in matters of principle. This regards the quality of the official statistics and how to facilitate data provision.

Statistics Sweden's Scientific Council

The Scientific Council assists Statistics Sweden with matters relating to statistical methods and quality. The Council may also assist other agencies that are responsible for official statistics with such matters.

Consumer Price Index Board

The board handles issues about calculations of the Consumer Price Index (CPI) and the application of the grounds that apply to the index calculations, and promotes development of methods for the calculation of CPI.

Construction Index Board

The board handles issues about calculations of the construction index, which includes the construction price index and the factor price index, and the application of the grounds that apply to the index calculations. The board also promotes development of methods for the calculations.

Expert group for labour market issues, EFAM

The task of the group is to see that the statistics that are produced within the labour market area in Sweden reflect the labour market in a good way.

User Council

The purpose of the user council is to create a system with organised user and customer contacts. By doing so, Statistics Sweden receives knowledge about new and changed needs of statistics, and firmly establish the changes in the statistics of important customers.
