Community Innovation Survey (CIS) 2020-2022

The Community Innovation Survey (CIS) collects data on the innovation activities in Swedish enterprises with 10 or more employees. The survey is carried out every two years and is based on an EU harmonised questionnaire.

The main users of the statistics are the government offices, i.e. ministry of education and research, ministry of climate and enterprise and ministry of finance. The statistics are also used by other governmental agencies and researchers as well as international organisations i.e. EU and OECD.

The survey is mandatory. This means that all enterprises have an obligation to answer the web form, even if the enterprise did not carry out innovation activities during the reference period.
