Continuing Vocational Training (CVT) 2025
CVT refers to activities that are planned, have an explicit educational purpose and are fully or partly supported by the employer, for example through allocated time or funding.

The purpose of the survey is to obtain information on how enterprises invest in CVT and skills development. The results are used to compile Sweden’s official statistics, which provide a basis for decision‑making both within Sweden and the EU, as well as for research and public debate. The survey is conducted every five years in all EU Member States.
Instructions
Providing this information often requires the involvement of several functions within the enterprise, for example HR, finance, and payroll, since the questions cover different areas. Therefore, it is advisable to review the questions before logging in to the online questionnaire; see the links below.
Examples of the information requested:
- Training activities carried out in the form of courses, workshops, conferences, e‑learning, etc., during 2025.
- Number of participants (broken down by sex), time spent, and planned CVT activities as well as cases where no CVT was offered.
- Training costs and contributions received or provided to training funds.
Kindly note that the questionnaire is only available in Swedish. If necessary, use the English preview to understand what information is being requested. Follow the numbering of the questions when entering your answers in the electronic questionnaire.
Survey timetable
The information letter with login details was sent out in March 2026.

Frequently asked questions
What is important to include when contacting Statistics Sweden with questions about the survey?
Please provide your corporate registration number and your contact details (name, email address, and telephone number), so that we can process your request more efficiently. Furthermore, indicate that your enquiry concerns the survey Continuing Vocational Training (CVT) in enterprises.
I don't have the login details anymore, what should I do?
Contact us with your corporate registration number and email address, and we will get back to you.
The enterprise has a split financial year. How should we report?
The information should refer to the calendar year 2025. If this is not possible, the information should refer to the financial year that ended in 2025.
The enterprise only operated during part of the year. How should we report?
Report data for the part of the calendar year during which you were in operation and include a comment at the end of the questionnaire explaining the reason.
The enterprise was merged during 2025. What should we do?
Contact us and provide the date of the merger and the names and corporate registration numbers of all enterprises involved, and we will get back to you.
The enterprise has gone bankrupt. What should we do?
Contact us and state the date of the bankruptcy as well as whether any operations will continue under another enterprise. Additionally, provide your corporate registration number.
Should the information also include activities abroad?
No. For enterprises operating in several countries, the answers should only refer to the Swedish part of the operations.
Is it acceptable to estimate the requested information?
Yes. Estimates may be provided when precise data is not available.
Can we get an extension for submitting the survey?
Contact us and state the reason for requesting an extension. Please also provide your corporate registration number and contact details.
We want to change information we have already submitted. How do we do that?
Contact us and provide your corporate registration number, and we can reopen the questionnaire for you. Remember to submit the survey again after making your changes.
Is the enterprise required to submit the information?
Yes. The submission is mandatory according to Swedish law. For more information, see the section “Legal information” below.
Can we receive compensation for providing the information?
No. Submitting the information is a statutory obligation for this survey. Neither Statistics Sweden nor any other authority has received funding to compensate enterprises for submitting information for official statistics.
Publishing of the results
The results will be published under the subject area “Education and Research in the Higher Education Sector” on Statistics Sweden’s website, no earlier than 2028. Results from the 2020 survey and previous survey rounds are also available there. Swedish only.
Legal Information
There is an obligation to provide information for this survey under the Official Statistics Act (SFS 2001:99). Rules on the obligation to provide information are also contained in the Official Statistics Ordinance (SFS 2001:100) and regulations (SCB-FS 2026:6). Consultation has taken place with the Board of Swedish Industry and Commerce for Better Regulation and the Swedish Association of Local Authorities and Regions (SALAR).
Information about an individual's personal and economic conditions is held confidential under Chapter 24, Section 8 of the Public Access to Information and Secrecy Act (SFS 2009:400). When the information is presented, no single enterprise or organisation can be identified. The information is used solely for statistical purposes.
Rules on processing personal data are contained in the EU General Data Protection Regulation, the Official Statistics Act (SFS 2001:99)and the Official Statistics Ordinance (SFS 2001:100).
