Quarterly Economic Statistics (QES) is a survey that provides a quarterly overview of the economic activities and performance of the business sector. QES generates statistics on business sector profitability, value added, gross investment in tangible assets, and inventory investment. The statistics serve as input for quarterly GDP calculations and as individual business cycle indicators.

The private sector profitability increased during the second quarter of the year. Both the operating margin and the profit share of value added increased compared to the corresponding quarter last year. Gross investment in tangible assets increased and investments in inventories decreased, all measured in current prices.
