  This publication gives a picture of the state of the economy on a monthly basis. Also included here are in-depth articles related to economic statistics. The publication is intended for those who are interested in following economic developments. It is only available in Swedish.

  Excessive Deficit Procedure

  The statistics show general government net lending/net borrowing and gross debt according to the rules in the Stability and Growth Pact. More information referring to government finances and the Excessive Deficit Procedure is available on Eurostat's website.

  National accounts, previous definitions

  In September 2014, Sweden transitioned to calculating the National Accounts according to EU Regulation ESA 2010. Previous definitions of the National Accounts refer to calculations according to the previous regulations ESA 1995 and SNA 1968; as well as tables preceding the benchmark revisions of 2019.

  National Accounts, quarterly and annual estimates

  The National Accounts (NA) is an accounting system that summarises and describes the country's economic activities and development. The National Accounts include calculations of the Gross domestic product (GDP), real sector accounts and financial accounts.

  Regional Accounts

  Regional Accounts are the regional equivalent to a country's National Accounts, i.e., National Accounts with regional and geographic divisions. A region's equivalent to a country's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) is called Regional Gross Domestic Product (GDPR).

  Social protection expenditure and receipts in Sweden and Europe (ESSPROS)

  ESSPROS stands for European System of integrated Social Protection Statistics, a harmonised system providing a means of analysing and comparing social protection financial flows. This system has been developed by Eurostat in collaboration with the member states and the data are drawn up according to the ESSPROS Manual. Expenditure of social protection schemes is broken down into social benefits, administration costs and other expenditure. Receipts of social protection schemes comprise social contributions, general government contributions and other receipts.

  Supplement on contingent liabilities and potential obligations to the EDP related questionnaire

  EU Directive 2011/85 specifies a number of requirements on Member States' budgetary frameworks. Budget data for government and social security funds is published monthly; budget data for municipalities and regions is published quarterly with annual publication of supplementary data where the aim is to capture transactions which could affect public finances.

  System of Health Accounts (SHA)

  Health accounts show a detailed description of the Swedish health care. The calculations follow guidelines created by OECD, WHO and EU and allow international comparisons. Data are based on available statistics for the public sector and the households and are compatible with National accounts. Data are reported by function, financier and producer. Health Accounts are updated annually.
