Entry into the labour market among higher vocational education graduates 2024
The principal objective of Higher Vocational Education (HVE) is to support Sweden’s skills provision. This report presents the key findings from the annual employment survey of graduates from HVE programmes. In autumn 2025, the graduates participated in a questionnaire addressing their transition into the labour market, their current employment status, and their perceptions of the completed YH education.
Among students who graduated in 2024, 81 percent reported employment as their primary activity in autumn 2025. This represents a decline of three percentage points compared to the previous year. The recent downward trend in the proportion employed one year after graduation is likely attributable to a more constrained labour market and prevailing economic downturn.
