This graph only contains investments in environmental protection, no current expenditures are included. The domain Other has been divided into Biodiversity, Land and groundwater and Other* from 2016 and onwards. A correction to environmental protection investments in the water environmental domain for the reference year 2023 will be carried out in spring 2026.
Definitions and explanations
Air - Measures to reduce pollution to air.
Water - Measures to reduce the pollution of surface water and seawater, including wastewater management.
Waste - Measures to reduce the generation of waste and of its harmful effect on the environment.
Other - Measures to protect biodiversity and landscape, to reduce environmental pollution of land and groundwater, to reduce noise, vibration and radiation, and other environmental protection activities not elsewhere classified.
