Household consumption decreased by 0.8 percent in April 2026 compared with March 2026 and increased by 0.7 percent in May 2026 compared with April 2026. Compared with the same month last year, household consumption increased by 1.8 percent in April 2026 och by 3.4 percent in May 2026. According to the weekly indicator, household consumption increased by 0.6 percent week 19-22 compared with week 15-18. All figures are measured in constant prices and are calendar and seasonally adjusted.

Definitions and explanations
The consumption indicator shall describe the total consumption by purpose excluding education services, insurance and financial services (purpose 10 and 12).
The Consumer Price Index is used for deflation.
The reference year for all time series is the previous year.
Revisions
When the monthly indicator of household consumptionis published for a new month, previous months are also revised if new information has been added. Usually, the material is revised between one and four months backwards, depending on where in the quarter the reference month is located.
The seasonally adjusted series are always revised from January 2019 and forward.
Next publishing will be
The next weekly indicator will be published 2026-07-08 and will include data until week 26. In connection with that publication, also daily and monthly statistics will be updated in the statistical database.
Changes for users retrieving information with the help of an API
In the fall of 2025, PxWebApi v1 was replaced by PxWebApi v2. PxWebApi v1 will remain up and running until, 31 December 2026, but will after that no longer be functional. For more information and instructions on conversion, please see PxWebApi v2 .
