The statistics are based on the surveys Household Finances (1975-2013) and Incomes and taxes (2011-2021). Older definitions of household (family unit) and income are used in the longer time series covering the period 1975-2013. However, due to the tax reform implemented in 1990/91, comparability over time is affected.
