House prices declined
Statistical news from Statistics Sweden 2019-04-11 9.30
Real estate prices for one- or two-dwelling buildings declined by 1 percent in the first quarter of 2019 compared with the fourth quarter of 2018. Prices remained unchanged on an annual basis in the first quarter compared with the same period the year before.
Between the two most recent quarters, prices declined in 13 out of 21 counties, while rising prices were reported in 6 counties. The largest decline was reported in Västerbotten County and Norrbotten County at 5 percent, followed by Uppsala County at 4 percent. The largest rise was reported in Dalarna County at 3 percent, followed by Kronoberg County at 2 percent. In the metropolitan areas of Greater Malmö, Greater Stockholm and Greater Gothenburg, price changes ranged from minus 1 percent to plus 2 percent.
On an annual basis, prices rose in 12 counties. The largest increases were reported in Värmland County, Kronoberg County and Blekinge County at 5 percent in each county. Declining prices were reported in 8 counties. The largest decline was reported in Västernorrland County and Västerbotten County at 5 percent, followed by Jönköping County at 4 percent. In the metropolitan areas of Greater Gothenburg and Greater Malmö, prices rose by 2 percent and 1 percent, respectively, while prices in Greater Stockholm declined by 3 percent.
The average price at the national level for one- or two-dwelling buildings in the first quarter 2019 was almost SEK 3.1 million.

One- or two-dwelling buildings for permanent dwelling include detached one- or two-dwelling buildings, terraced houses and link-attached buildings. Real estate with site leasehold rights is included.
