The Swedish economy September 2026
Strong Swedish business cycle despite weaker summer data
Statistical news from Statistics Sweden 2026-09-16 8.00
Swedish GDP growth was strong in the second quarter, but the GDP indicator indicates a weaker outcome in June and July. Growth in the second quarter was broad, with household consumption, for instance, continuing its upward trend. At the same time, Statistics Sweden's business cycle clock shows that the economic situation is strong, as most indicators are above their long-term trend. Further information can be found in Statistics Sweden’s periodical, “Sveriges ekonomi – statistiskt perspektiv” (in Swedish).
