The inflation rate was 1.2 percent in October 2016, up from 0.9 percent in September. The Swedish Consumer Price Index (CPI) increased by 0.3 percent from September to October 2016. In the corresponding period last year, the CPI increased by 0.1 percent.
The upward contribution to change in the CPI from September to October 2016 was mainly due to a rise in prices for food (0.6 percent), electricity (3.0 percent) and fuels (2.9 percent), which each contributed 0.1 percentage points.
The CPI for October 2016 was 318.00 (1980=100).
The inflation rate according to the CPI with a fixed interest rate (CPIF) was 1.4 percent in October, up from 1.2 percent in September. The CPIF increased by 0.4 percent from September to October 2016. In the corresponding period last year, the CPIF increased by 0.1 percent.
The inflation rate according to the Harmonised Index of Consumer Prices (HICP) was 1.1 percent in October 2016, up from 0.8 percent in September. The HICP increased by 0.4 percent from September to October 2016. In the corresponding period last year, the HICP increased by 0.1 percent.
