Producer prices increased in October
Statistical news from Statistics Sweden 2016-11-24 9.30
Producer prices in total increased 2.0 percent between September and October. In the same period, prices increased 2.3 percent on the import market and 2.1 percent on the export market. On the domestic market, prices increased 1.9 percent.
There was a seasonally normal price increase for the prices of district heating, which contributed most to the upturn on the domestic market in October. On the export market, higher prices for electricity contributed to the increase. The major contribution to the increase on the import market was higher prices for crude oil.
Prices for domestic supply, that is producer prices on the domestic and import markets together, increased 2.1 percent from September to October and 1.8 percent compared with October last year.
Compared with October last year, producer prices in total have increased 2.2 percent. In the same period, prices on both the import market and the export market increased 1.3 percent and 2.4 percent respectively. On the domestic market, prices have increased 2.1 percent in the same period.

Changes in exchange rates in October
An appreciation or depreciation of the Swedish currency has a tendency to lower or raise export and import prices in Swedish kronor. According to Swedish Customs exchange rates, the Swedish krona depreciated against the US dollar by 2.6 percent and against Norwegian Krone by 1.7 percent. The Swedish currency also depreciated against the Euro by 1.2 percent, against the British Pound by 1.1 percent and against the Danish Krone by 1.0 percent.
