Defence, research, and change? 2006-2026
This report describes and analyses how Swedish government funding for defence-related research and development (R&D) has evolved between 2006 and 2026. In recent years, both direct defence appropriations and R&D funding for defence have increased substantially, emerging as a priority for the government. The report also takes a closer look at the individual budget items within Statistics Sweden’s microdata, outlines the division between civil and military defence, and provides an international comparison.
