In 2024, the Swedish aquaculture production of fish for consumption decreased by approximately six percent compared to the previous year. The production of stocking fish declined even more – by a full 44 percent. Rainbow trout remains the most common species for both fish for consumption and stocking fish, although its production has also decreased.
